Naive to rule out Eng from IPL: Vaughan

London: Michael Vaughan has said it is "naive" to think England players will not be involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at some point in the near future.
Last week Giles Clarke, the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), ruled out centrally contracted England players from taking part in next year's IPL as he wanted to make sure that everything possible was done to keep them fresh for the 2009 home Ashes series against Australia.
The inaugural IPL, a domestic Twenty20 competition featuring some of the world's best players, who've joined newly created franchises on lucrative salaries, gets underway in India on Friday.
Hampshire captain Dimitri Mascarenhas is the only England player involved in the new tournament but the all-rounder does not have a central contract. Meanwhile his county colleague and star England batsman Kevin Pietersen has labelled the ECB stance on centrally contracted players not appearing in the IPL as "ridiculous".
England Test captain Vaughan, speaking at Yorkshire's Headingley headquarters Tuesday on the eve of the start of the 2008 County Championship, said it was inevitable English players would eventually take part in the IPL.
"I've heard so many people say that all the best players are in the world are there and you want to go and play in it," Vaughan told Sky Sports.
"So I think we're all naive if we don't think that England players are going to end up playing in the IPL.
"I'm excited to see how it looks when it starts on Friday, I think is there going to be a lot of passion from the players who play and those watching in the stands. It is certainly looking like a very exciting spectacle. I've seen a few of the previews over in India with the adverts and the billboards, and it looks like it is going to be a big event.
"If there are big grounds, and there is a lot of money involved, you're going to want to play in it and I think it will be sooner rather than later that we will see England players playing in the IPL."

ICL Indians conquer "World" to win ICL 20s World Series!

Mumbai, April 15, 2008: The finals of ICL 20s World Series featured the big match between ICL India & ICL World, battling it out for top honors, at the Lal Bahadur Stadium Hyderabad. The big question for cricket fans was if the magnificent Indian side continues its stupendous run & conquers the final frontier in form of the ICL 20s World Series championship. In the end, it was the exuberance of youth and passion of playing for their country that saw the magnificent ICL Indian team conquer their formidable ICL World opponents, in a high quality cricket spectacle by 10 runs. G. Vignesh was declared Man of the Man. Ibrahim Khaleel was declared Man of the Series for his brilliant performance as wicket-keeper batsman through out the ICL 20s World Series.
R. Sathish won the toss and elected to bat. The Indians opened with their tested combination of Vignesh & Khaleel. The opening bowlers for the world side came out firing all cylinders and at the end of the first two overs, the scorecard read only one solitary run for no loss. The young openers soon got into the groove & at the end of the 5th over, the Indians were back on track at 27 for no loss. They soon started taking their chances and the partnership was worth 45 runs at the end of the 7th over. A fine lofted shot from Khaleel to the long off fence brought about the Indian 50 in the 8th over.
Vignesh was making most of a dropped chance in the 2nd over, scoring boundaries all across the park, much to the delight of a packed LBS stadium. The explosive opening partnership worth 76 was finally broken by Elliott in the 10th over, getting the wicket of Khaleel for a well made 34. At the half way mark of their innings the ICL-India side was well placed at 78/1. The 100 of the Indian innings came up with a big six by Vignesh in the 13th over, which also brought about his explosive fifty off only 36 balls, including 5 fours & 3 sixes. Just when the Indians were looking to walk away with the match, two quick wickets of Abbas Ali & TP Singh, brought the World side back into the game at 105/3 in the 14th over. Chandana got the big wicket of Vignesh trapping him leg before wicket for a well made 57. With 5 overs to go, the Indians were set for the final onslaught at 112/4.
However, the quick wickets of Binny & captain Sathish, had the Indians in a bit of a bother at 126/6 in the 18th over, with only one genuine batsman in Jhunjhunwala. The fall of regular wickets at regular intervals did not allow the Indians to take full advantage of the explosive start & folded their innings at 148/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, the ICL World side was off to a confident start placed at 22 for no loss at the end of the 3rd over. Vignesh however, had other plans and got the first breakthrough sending back the dangerous Elliott with the first ball of the 4th over. The great Damien Martyn was looking in ominous touch taking the ICL World score to 42/1 in the 5th over. Sathish turned to his main strike force of Kumaran & Murtaza, to break the dangerously evolving partnership between Martyn & Vincent.
At the halfway mark the World side was right on target at 74/1, needing another 75 runs off 60 balls. Just when the partnership was taking dangerous proportions the wily Syed struck foxing Vincent in the 11th over. The Indians were turning in some tight overs in the crucial 9th -13th over, in turn applying pressure through an escalating required run-rate which was creeping at around 10 runs per over in the 13th over. It was a wonderful spell from Syed Mohammed who bowled his 4 overs for only 10 runs. It was turning out to be a fascinating contest between bat & ball.
With 5 overs to go the World side was placed at 96/2 needing 53 runs off 30 balls, setting up an interesting finish & the great Martyn holding the key. The Indians came up with some exhilarating fielding & that resulted in the big wickets of Cairns & Martyn in form of run-outs. Martyn's wicket was a big blow as he had batted beautifully for his classy 60. With 2 overs to go, the ICL-World side needed 35 runs off 12 balls. The Indians kept their cool & some brilliant bowling in the end saw them come out tops by 10 runs.

Pawan fans put pressure on Dil Raju

Producer Dil Raju is in fix and under tremendous pressure from power star fans. Dil Raju who is currently producing Parugu with Allu Arjun plans to release the film by this month end. But Pawan Kalyan fans are requesting him to postpone the film to May. As Pawan's Jalsa released recently, they want Parugu not to compete with this.
"We are asking him to put on hold at least till Jalsa completes 50 days run," said a fan.
That means Dil Raju has to postpone the movie till mid May if he succumbs to the pressure.
The film which has been getting delayed for long time for various reasons now gets another dilemma

'Kantri' to hit theatres in May!

The 'Kantri' team is like a live beehive, completely busy and gearing up for a May release.
This film features NTR Jr. as the main man and Hansika and Tanuja as the heroines. As we are writing this news some very important scenes are being panned at Hyderabad.
A song on the hero and Hansika will be shot finally. A grand set is being erected for shooting this song at the Ramoji film city in Hyderabad.
The music of 'Kantri' was released a few days back and is receiving very positive reviews and feedback from all circles. There is a song in this film that has been crooned by the hero himself.
Ashwini Dutt is producing this film with Meher Ramesh on the director's chair. The film will be released under Vaijayanthi Movies banner.
Mani Sharma has lent his musical touch to this film. So with 'Kantri' releasing all over during the vacation time let us hope that this film entertains the youth as well as the family audience and makes a big show at the box office.

As every one spoke on the Jalsa audio release day - if Pawan can give out an average film, it would rock the box office. What if the film is proved hit? Sky is the limit for the records. That is what is happening now. Producer Allu Aravind is very happy that they delivered yet another film that is proving the stamina of Telugu film industry. Binod Pradhan's camera for Pawan's 'Puli'

Renowned cinematographer in Bollywood Binod Pradhan has been roped in for Pawan Kayan's soon-to-be launched film - Puli. Director S J Surya plans this film in grand scale as it is his dream project and he is roping in best of talents in India with A R Rehman acting as music director. Binod Pradhan who is a very big name in Bollywood worked for Rang De Basanti, 1942 Love Story, Devadas, Parineeta, etc.
This is Binod Pradhan's debut movie in South Indian films.
Pawan Kalyan plays dual role in it. For one character (a cop), Pawan Kalyan has already trimmed his air and developed heavy moustache. The film is produced by Singanmala Ramesh and will begin its shooting by end of this month.
